Single Origin Ethiopia: Espresso Roast

It's only fitting that our first fully caffeinated coffee is a natural process Ethiopian. A grade 1 Yirgacheffe, Rachia delivers a rich body and sweetness, balanced by ripe fruit notes.  

This lot is sourced from more than 350 farmers living in the Yirgacheffe, Idido district. Farmers deliver ripe cherries to the Gizat washing station, where they undergo a meticulous sorting process, ensuring only the best cherries are selected. These are then immediately placed on raised beds and dried over 15-20 days. They are then further processed (colour, density, and screen size sorted) and milled ready for export.

ESPRESSO RECIPE

This is a medium roast, so don't be afraid to pull a slightly slower, longer shot. If your machine has the ability, you may also want to increase the temperature slightly. 

DOSE: 20g

TIME: 30-32 seconds

This coffee has an exquisitely distinctive taste with chocolate and fruity overtones. The more I have it, the more I enjoy its finer qualities. This one is for the discerning coffee aficionado who is looking for something a little different.
